Hmmm…I see what they’re doing here, but it just don’t sit right with me.

Why not? This works, empirically. There’s a reason Joe the Camel and Tony the Tiger were created. People are vulnerable to heuristics when making food purchase decisions. Adults respond to celebrities in their yogurt commercials. Kids respond to cartoons.
If we can’t have strict advertising regulation that protects kids from junk food manufacturers, I’d rather have people who make fruits and vegetables fighting back.

Agree with healthpolitics

While, in theory, I understand that anything that promotes veggie/fruit consumption is good, there is still a lot of cultural implications that affect health that go unanswered.  Do the grapes cost more money because they have a name tied to it?  What about fruits/veggies that don’t come in traditional packaging (like bananas or squash), or that aren’t ready to consume straight-from-the-bag?  Will the (sexist) marketing deter males from eating this, or continue to reinforce the message that pretty skinny white girls are more important than large girls or girls of color?  Where’s the gender neutral marketing?

Gotta admit, if I didn’t love grapes as much as I already do this would definitely send me over the edge.
